Sarah: two decades of clinical care

ree

Hi, I'm Sarah, with Ross and our two children, we made our big move from Cornwall to Turriff, Aberdeenshire in August 2023.

I qualified as a Physiotherapist from King's College London in 2003 and after a short stint of voluntary work in Romania and the Budimex Children's Hospital in Bucharest, I started my career in Cornwall at the main District General Hospital.

After completing my junior and senior rotations in Care of the Elderly, Orthopaedics (Elective and Trauma), Stroke and Neurology, Respiratory, and Musculoskeletal Outpatients I worked on a specialist stroke unit for two years and then four years in a neurorehabilitation centre, working with both traumatic and non-traumatic neurological conditions.

After having our second child, I moved to work in a local community hospital on a rehabilitation ward before gaining the opportunity to work with the Community Palliative Care team as a Specialist Palliative Care Physiotherapist where I worked for the six years prior moving to North East Scotland.

Over the last 20 years I have been extremely fortunate to work with a wide variety of people, their families and loved ones, with complex, chronic and palliative conditions. It has been both rewarding and a privilege being a clinician that can support and empower people to explore their hopes and priorities and achieve what is important them at different stages of their condition and their lives.

Starting Turra Physio with Ross is an exciting new experience for us both. I am looking to develop new skills in running a business as well as being on hand when needed to share my specialist skills and experience, offering a holistic service to the people we meet in our new clinic.

I look forward to meeting you!
