Rugby is one of the most popular sports in the world. Rugby requires a high level of endurance, agility, and speed, and being a contact sport, comes with the potential for overuse injuries, head injuries, and traumatic injuries.
Injuries are an unfortunate part of rugby, and while they can be discouraging, they don’t have to be the end of your training and playing journey. In fact, they can be an opportunity for growth and improvement.
Here at Turra Physio, we are committed to providing Rugby Players with personalised care to ensure they not only recover rapidly from their injuries but also return to the pitch with greater strength and confidence than before. We have extensive experince with professional and amature rugby players in Union and League and with both sexes having worked with several professional clubs over the last 20+ year and with the militarys rugby athelets over 14 years.
If you play rugby, you know pain! Soft tissue injuries are the most common injuries in rugby for players. They are a major source of pain and disability. They're mainly sprains, strains, tears and bruises that affect ligaments, tendons and muscles.
1 in 4 rugby players will be injured during a season and 46% of those injuries will send you to the sidelines for at least a week but nearly HALF of all Rugby Injuries Can be Avoided.
Our mission is to help injured rugby players recover as quickly as possible, maintain strength, fitness, and even build muscle mass and return them to their peak condition through Specialised and Comprehensive Rehabilitation aligned with S&C programs.
Performance Enhancement:
A well-structured Rehabilitation and Strength and Conditioning program enhances muscle strength, power, and overall athleticism, enabling players to sprint faster, jump higher, and engage in more powerful and precise movements. This translates to sustaining a higher level of physical performances throughout a match which can help the team to be more successful.
Injury Prevention:
Conditioning helps to fortify muscles, tendons, and ligaments, reducing the likelihood of common Rugby injuries like strains, sprains, and overuse injuries. Players who are physically prepared are also better positioned to recover quickly from the intense physical stresses encountered during games and training
At Turra Physio we will deliver Rehabilitation and Strength and Conditioning programs that enhance recovery, equip competitors to handle the demands of training and play that will contribute to improved on-field performance and a reduced risk of injury.
We can show you how to reduce the risk of ankle sprain by 87% and the risk of neck, back, shoulder and knee injuries by as much as 51%.
